What Moves God?

What good would goose bumps be at a church gathering if our family were falling apart? The enemy tries to do just that. He doesn’t mind if we gather, get excited, and leave a church gathering as long as we don’t bring lasting transformation to our families. The Lord is looking to pour out a blessing on us that will take generations to spend. He wants to bless His children. He wants to give us the kingdom (Luke 12:32). We must be mature enough to handle what He wants to pour out. For the mature, goose bumps are a poor excuse, only lasting revival will do.

One of the barometers of a family’s spiritual health and maturity is its prayer life. Real and lasting revival will come and be sustained as we fulfill our roles in the family. The old saying goes, “A family that prays together stays together.” It is old – almost cliché’ – yet its just as true today as yesterday. My prayer for us is that the most powerful, prayer meetings we ever attend are in our living rooms. Our prayers move God. They influence the Most Powerful Person on either side of heaven.

The Lord wants us to take up our spiritual weapons and war for the family. The believer has been equipped with powerful spiritual weapons. One of these weapons is prayer. A prayer warrior shakes heaven until their prayers are manifest on earth. An intercessor stands in the gap between hell’s consequences and heaven’s reward on someone’s behalf. They war with a burden until heaven and hell move to fulfill God’s promise for the one they are praying for.

Prayer’s power can be seen in the verse below.

Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV)

30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.

If God had a faithful prayer warrior or intercessor to stand in the gap to pray God’s will, he would have spared the land.

Another powerful intercessor stood in the gap so she could give her husband the child he wanted. Hannah prayed and God moved on her behalf. Her first child was dedicated to the Lord. He anointed not one but two kings of Israel. Every prayer you pray is a powerful weapon. It will bring heaven’s reward here on earth for the one you are interceding for. You might say, “I prayed for them”. Good! Keep standing in the gap until you see hell’s consequences replaced with heaven’s reward.

The Bible says in:

 Acts 16:31 (NIV)

“…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Stand in the gap. Believe God’s word then stand between hell’s consequences and heaven’s reward on behalf of another. Watch God make the impossible possible, the incurable curable, and the supernatural become natural. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Is anything too hard for Him? Ask and you shall receive.
