God’s Love

Do you ever feel like something is missing from your life? Or that your heart is longing for something more? The answer is more of God’s love. His love is everything. Only God’s love can fill the void within each one of us. The more we experience God’s perfect love, the more are hearts are free to soar to the highest of heights, because it’s His love that truly makes us whole.

As long as you’re alive, there’s still more of God’s love to experience, and God wants each of us to know just how much He loves us. Ephesians 3:16-19 describes God’s love as 4 dimensional.

God’s love for you is so high, it will carry you way above the circumstances of life that threaten to pull you down. His love for you is so wide, it will separate you from all the hurt and pain He came to deliver you from. His love for you is so deep, it will penetrate your very spirit, soul and body and heal what only He can, filling every weary, lonely and empty area of your heart with His abundant love. And God’s love for you is so long, it will never run out, nor will it ever fail you. God loves you so much!

The more I experience God’s love the more I want. This is what God’s love does in our lives. 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because He first loved us. God’s love not only causes us to love Him back, but it causes us to love what God loves. What does God love?

One morning, I was praying and asking God to give me His heart. When we love the Father, we want to have His heart so we can truly live for Him. Suddenly, God gave me a vision of the most beautiful sunset. Next, I saw the most amazing mountain-view. These images took my breath away. Then, I heard the voice of the Lord say, “When I look throughout My creation, it’s not the perfect sunset or the stunning mountain view that takes my breath away. What stirs my heart, is my most precious and priceless creation – my people.” Then, what I can describe only as supernatural, I was flooded with God’s love for me, and not only that, but love for what God loves most – His people.

2 Corinthians 5:14 tells us that Christ’s love actually “compels” us. The word compel in that verse is the Greek word “synecho,” which means to “seize.” God’s love literally “takes hold of” our lives so that we’re never the same again. Loving others is a natural overflow of receiving God’s love. The more we experience it, the more it flows from our lives to the lives of others. This is what our walk with God is all about.

God’s love is the most powerful force on the face of the earth. When God’s people are overtaken by love, there are no limits, because God’s love is limitless. His love in and through us can truly change this world. This is why the enemy targets it. In Matthew 24:12 it says in the last days, the love of many will grow cold. Wickedness will abound and many people will be offended (v10). This is exactly what the enemy wants. The enemy wants us to be hurt and offended by others so anger and bitterness sets in our hearts and God’s love stops flowing. It’s scary just how easily this can happen. But it doesn’t have to. God’s love is the answer. We must be so filled with God’s love that it rules our hearts. His love will be a shield against offense. It will make us unoffendable. His love in and through us will cover others and cause God’s mercy to flow from our lives.

When I saw the t-shirt that I’m wearing in the picture I posted with this blog,  it struck my heart. Yes, that’s my desire – for God’s love to rule me every single moment of every single day. I got the shirt as a reminder to me and others to daily let God’s love rule our lives. This can only happen as we run into God’s arms daily and bask in His love, so that His love springs forth from us without hindrance.

This amazing love of God’s is something we each need to experience personally. How? We do so by making room in our heart for Him each day. Take time from your busy day and find a quiet place to just bask in His love. Reading the Bible is one of the best ways, because the Bible is God’s love letter to you. Every promise in there is for you. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” It’s in the stillness we can hear the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit, letting us know how loved we are. As we spend time with God, He imparts His supernatural love to us. Pray and ask the Lord to increase your capacity to receive His love. He loves this prayer because He loves to love on you.  After all, you are His most precious and priceless creation.
